Elizabeth Stroud, President

Elizabeth Stroud is the Vice President of Finished Goods for Moore & Giles. She is a graduate of Hollins University and Parsons School of Design. Elizabeth previously worked for Hermès, in New York City. In addition to her work at Moore & Giles, Elizabeth co-founded MIX, a young donor’s society of the Academy Center of the Arts, has guest curated two art shows at the Ann White Academy Gallery, and served on the Academy Center of the Arts Board of Directors, including two years as Board President. 

A Lynchburg native, Elizabeth returned to Lynchburg in 2009 and is married with two children.

Tim Smith, Vice President

Tim smith is the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Randolph College. He earned his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in art history from the University of South Carolina. He also received his Ph.D. in history and the criticism of art from Florida State University in 2002. He has served as an art history professor with a 17-year tenure at Birmingham-Southern College, a visiting assistant professor at DePaul University between 2002 and 2006, and an instructor in art history for Florida State University between 1994 and 1996.

Mitch McEntire, Treasurer

Mitch McEntire brings a strong financial services background to the Riverviews board. He began his career at Bank of the James, where he developed a foundation in banking, lending, and client relationship management, and now serves on the team at the Rob Chapman State Farm agency in Lynchburg, helping individuals and families navigate insurance and financial planning decisions. Mitch joins Riverviews as Treasurer, lending his financial expertise and steady eye to the organization's continued growth and sustainability.

David Royer, Director

David Royer is Deputy General Counsel at X-energy, where he leads complex contract, joint venture, and project work in advanced nuclear technology. A Lynchburg native and graduate of E.C. Glass High School, he holds a B.A. from Virginia Military Institute and a J.D. from Vermont Law School. David's earlier career includes senior counsel roles at Framatome and AREVA NP, as well as legal work at Wachovia Bank, giving him more than two decades of experience in corporate governance, contract strategy, and risk management.

David has lent his time and expertise to numerous nonprofit boards over the years. He currently serves on the board of the Boys & Girls Club and recently completed board service with the Jubilee Family Development Center. He joins Riverviews with a heart for service and a deep commitment to the cultural life of the city he calls home.

Mark Burgin, Director

Mark Burgin is an attorney at PLDR Law, where his practice focuses on commercial construction law for public and private construction projects in Lynchburg and throughout Virginia. Prior to college and law school, Mark grew up on a dairy farm in Delhi, New York and was involved in the farm’s multiple expansion projects. After receiving a B.A. from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio, Mark returned to the East Coast to obtain his J.D. from the University of Richmond School of Law. Mark has lived and worked in Lynchburg since 2015 and is engaged in the local community, including service on the Riverviews Artspace board. For fun, Mark enjoys bicycling, hiking, and camping and can often be found riding the Blackwater Creek Trail or traversing a mountain trail.

Michele Fredericks, Director

Michele Richards Fredericks, originally a native of Lynchburg, moved back to area in 2018 after living all over the world with her husband and two boys. Michele received her Bachelors of Art and Interior Architecture from James Madison University and her Masters of Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. In her spare time she creates paintings that merge Art and Architecture. Michele is passionate about investing her time and talent into the growth and wellbeing of Lynchburg.

Farah Marks, Director

Farah is a graduate of Mary Washington College with a B.S. in Business Administration and additional studies in American Studies. She recently retired from Randolph College after nearly four decades of service, culminating in her role as Vice President for Institutional Advancement, a position she held from 2017 until her retirement in 2025. Over her career at Randolph, Farah served in admissions, donor relations, advancement services, and as director of development, leading the College through major fundraising campaigns including the Martin Science Building renovation and significant pandemic-era giving efforts.

Now in retirement, Farah remains deeply engaged in the cultural and civic life of Lynchburg. She currently serves on the boards of Forte Chamber Music — where she is a past president — and Riverviews Artspace, and she stays active in her community through ongoing volunteer and philanthropic work. Her past board service includes Endstation Theatre, the Lynchburg Symphony Youth Orchestra, and the Hampden-Sydney Music Festival.

Ty Toepke, Director

Ty serves as the Vice President of Development for the Faison Center, a Richmond non-profit serving individuals with autism. Prior to joining Faison, Ty Toepke served as the Executive Director of the RPS Education Foundation for five and a half years. In that role, he worked to raise money to support the strategic initiatives of Richmond Public Schools and to connect partners and resources for the benefit of RPS students.

 Ty has spent most of his career working with non-profits worked in various fundraising roles with organizations including NextUpRVA, the Valentine, and the YMCA. In addition, he has worked with strategy consulting firms Play and The Frontier Project. In addition to his professional non-profit work, Ty serves on the board of Blue Sky Fund and the development committee of Richmond Habitat for Humanity.

 Outside of the office, Ty enjoys anything outdoors, live music, and building things large and small. 

Liza Twery McAngus, Director

Liza is a Lynchburg native and marketing executive with a background spanning brand strategy, logistics, and the arts. She holds an MBA from Clemson University and a B.A. in Visual Arts & Arts Management with a minor in Art History from the College of Charleston, where a study abroad semester in Florence, Italy deepened her love of contemporary art and mixed-media work.

Liza has spent her career with Sunland Logistics Solutions, where she has helped grow the company 1,000% into a national third-party logistics provider. She joined Sunland after settling in Greenville, SC with her husband, Gage McAngus, and continues in her role today from Lynchburg, where the family returned in 2021 to be closer to home. Liza and Gage are proud to be raising their two children, Eleanor and Seth, in her hometown.
