Field Trips
A field trip to Riverviews is more than a gallery visit. It's an invitation to engage with living artists, contemporary artwork, and the creative process firsthand.
Bring your group to Riverviews Artspace
We welcome K–12 school groups, college and university classes, and community organizations of all kinds. Visits are tailored to your group's age, interests, and learning goals.
What a Visit Includes
Every field trip is a little different, but you can expect:
A guided tour of our current exhibitions
Context on the artists and ideas behind the work
Age-appropriate discussion and engagement activities
An inside look at how a working arts organization operates
We're happy to coordinate with educators and group leaders in advance to make sure the experience connects to your curriculum, coursework, or program goals.
We Welcome
K–12 Schools
From early elementary through high school, we offer visits that meet students where they are—sparking conversation, curiosity, and creative thinking. We work with teachers in advance to tailor the experience to your classroom goals, including alignment with Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs).
Colleges & Universities
Ideal for art history, studio art, arts administration, nonprofit management, and humanities courses. We can facilitate discussion with staff or visiting artists upon request.
Community Organizations
Arts councils, nonprofits, civic groups, senior centers, and more. If your group is curious, you're welcome here.
